About Our Wide Plank Ash Flooring
Ash is a versatile, highly durable hardwood long used in furniture, flooring, baseball bats, and tool handles. Similar to white oak in density and porosity, it features a bold, prominent grain that, when left unstained, stands out with fingerprint-like swirls often seen in faux bois.
Appearance varies with composition: ash sapwood is bright white, while heartwood ranges from pale tan to deep brown. For those wanting a very white floor, we offer sap grade ash flooring made from upper-grade sapwood in curated widths that maximize log yield. For more color variation, we also offer ash flooring with a natural mix of heartwood and sapwood.
