Northern Birch has a creamy white sapwood and warm yellow to brownish-red heartwood. It is a hardwood with excellent impact resistance.
Hull Forest Products' Natural grade Birch floor features a mix of sapwood and heartwood with lots of color variation, from golden yellow to brown to rich red. Natural character marks such as mineral streak, knots, and pin knots abound. Natural grade wood floors are only 33 to 66 percent clear grain.
Birch floors are also available in the Select and Premium grades.
