Sugar Maple, aka Hard Maple, shows color variation and warm yellow to orange tones that enliven a country kitchen.

The homeowner chose plainsawn Ash for the staircase and quartersawn Ash for the floor.

Our quartersawn Ash was used for the flooring in this country home, and we also milled the plainsawn Ash stair treads and risers for the homeowner.

Quartersawing slices wood at an entirely different angle than plainsawing, exposing an alternate view of the wood's grain.

A country home with quartersawn Red Oak floors. Quartersawing was common in previous centuries but is relatively rare today in flooring. Because the log is sawn at a different angle, it reveals the medullary rays in oak, giving this oak a look completely different from that of plainsawn oak.



Red Oak acts as a foil for an all-white kitchen.

White Oak is reminiscent of wine country, as wine barrels are traditionally crafted from White Oak.

Adirondack pine is the rustic cousin of our traditional eastern white pine. Unsanded Natural (Adirondack) grade pine, used as wall paneling in a carriage house interior. Unlike our traditional grade pine, Adirondack pine has some loose knots that add a rustic touch.

Known for its cathedral grain pattern, our wide plank New England Red Oak is also exceptionally durable.
