At Hull Forest Products our wide plank flooring comes standard with long lengths. Long lengths mean fewer end and edge seams on your floor and a less busy, more luxurious look. Instead of cutting around defects in boards and offering our flooring in shorter lengths, as most manufacturers do, we use higher quality boards and mill our flooring in longer lengths than you'll typically find elsewhere. When comparing our products and prices to those from other wide plank flooring manufacturers, we encourage you to ask these three questions. Otherwise you might end up with a lot of "shorts" and very few long planks.
1. What is the manufacturers' plank length range (from shortest possible board to longest possible board)?
2. What is their minimum average plank length (the shortest average length of all the boards in an order).
3. What percent of the planks in your order will be minimum average length or longer?
At Hull Forest Products, our plank length range is 4 to 16 feet. Our minimum average plank length is 10 feet for pine and 8 feet for all hardwoods except quartersawn oak, which is 7 feet. As shown in the price sheet above, 95 percent of the planks in our typical order are the minimum average length or longer.
